"Modern Oncology” (ISSN1672-4992, CN61-1415/R, semimonthly publication) is a nation-level domestic and foreign public released oncology periodical, proved by "Ministry of Chinese Science and Technique” and “News Publication Administration”, also is one of the series periodicals of Chinese Anti-cancer Association. The journal is sponsored by Chinese Anti-cancer Association, Shaanxi Anti-cancer Association of China, Shaanxi Cancer Institute, Shaanxi Medical Academy of China and is managed by Shaanxi Scientific Technical Association. 　　"Modern Oncology” aims at introducing the latest achievement and progress in this field, covers the diagnosis, therapy, basic research, clinical study, researching method, experience, prevention of tumor. The major columns are special paper, original paper, basic study, clinical research, review, epidemiology, short report, experience communication, western and Chinese traditional medicine, nursing experience, etc.
　　Over the past years, the quality of the journal, level of the papers, and the influence at home and abroad are increasing, plays an important role for improving the diagnostic and therapeutic level of Oncology in China.
　　Recently the financial and other condition has been improved remarkably, the period of publication has been changed to monthly from quarterly, number of page to 192 from 64; the proportion of papers supported by various foundations, amount of publication is increasing, the area of distribution is more widespread. According to “Chinese Scientific and Technique Periodical Adduction Report” the influential factor score is the top 5 in the 13 Oncology journals which are included in Chinese Core Periodicals and places 480 in all 1608 Chinese Core Periodicals including all sources of journals in China. The journal attains the “CAJ-CK Standard” outstanding periodical prize and first class prize of “Shaanxi Outstanding Science and Technology Periodical”.
　　Geng Qing-yi is the chief of the magazine agency, professor, wins the 3rd class prize of “Shaanxi Science and Technology Advance Prize”, director of Shaanxi Anti-cancer Association.
