Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the clinical significance of RBM28 in hepatocellular carcinoma by analyzing its expression levels in tumor tissues and its correlation with clinicopathological features of patients. Methods:The expression levels of RBM28 in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and normal tissues were analyzed by bioinformatics, and the relationship with patient prognosis of patients was analyzed.Immunohistochemistry and protein immunoblotting were used to detect the expression level of RBM28 in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal tissues, and its correlation with clinicopathological features of patients was analyzed. In addition, the expression level of RBM28 mRNA in tissues was detected using qRT-PCR.Results:The results of bioinformatics analysis indicated that the expression level of RBM28 protein in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than in normal tissues, and the overall survival (OS) of patients with high expression was significantly lower than that of patients with low expression.Further experimental analysis demonstrated that both RBM28 protein and mRNA were highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues (P<0.01).Additionally,the expression of RBM28 protein was not associated with age, gender, microvascular invasion,alpha-fetoprotein and HBV,but was significantly correlated with tumor size and TNM stage (P<0.05).Conclusion:RBM28 is highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and is associated with tumor size,TNM stage, and poor prognosis. It has the potential to serve as a molecular biomarker and a novel therapeutic target for hepatocellular carcinoma.
