Abstract:
Objective：To investigate clinicopathologic features and differential diagnosis of minute pulmonary meningothelial-like nodules(MPMNs).Methods：The clinical and radiological date were collected in twelve cases of MPMNs and their pathological and immunohistochemical features were analyzed，and the pathological diagnosis and differential diagnosis were discussed based on related literature review.Results：The patients were all female，with a mean age of 54 years old(range 39~69 years old).The MPMNs were located in the right lung with 8 patients and in the left lung with 4 patients.All cases had accompanied by main lesion.Microscopically，the lesions were well-circumscribed，located between pulmonary alveolar spaces.The cells arranged in small nests or whirlpools around small vein.Lesions cells were mild，similar to meningeal epithelial cells，with moderate cytoplasm，oval nucleus，and rare mitosis.Immunohistochemistry showed MPMNs exhibited immunoreactivity to Vimentin，PR and CD56 in 12 cases，EMA in 10 cases，and Calponin in 7 cases.Ki-67 index was low(1%).Conclusion：MPMNs are benign and reactive lesions，which is not only closely related to meningeal epithelial cells，but also as coexisting lesion of the main disease，may play a role in nutrition and support.
