Abstract:
The mutation of microsatellite instability (MSI) due to mutations or epigenetic changes in the mismatch repair (MMR) gene is considered to be one of the mechanisms of gastric cancer,and many studies have shown that gastric cancer with highly microsatellite instability (MSI-H) has its unique clinicopathological features and better prognosis,but there are many heterogeneity conclusions about prognosis and chemosensitivity.In this paper,we review the basic concepts,detection methods and indexes of MSI and the relationship with gastric cancer.
