Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) and matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues,para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues,and the association with clinical pathological features.Methods:Real-time qPCR,immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to detect the expressions of FGFR1 and MMP3 mRNA and protein levels in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues (78 cases),the corresponding para-tumor tissues (35 cases) and normal esophageal tissues (35 cases).Their relationships with clinical pathological characteristics of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were analyzed.Results:The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 mRNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were much higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues (P<0.05).No significant difference was observed between para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues (P>0.05).The positive rate and expression level of FGFR1 and MMP3 protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues (P<0.05).No significant difference was observed between para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues (P>0.05).The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was not associated with gender,age,differentiation of carcinoma (P>0.05),but associated with the depth of invasion,lymphatic metastasis and tumor TNM stages (P<0.05).The expression level of FGFR1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was positively correlated with the expression of MMP3 (r=0.303,P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 are significantly higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues.They may be associated with invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous carcinoma.
