Abstract:
Objective：To investigate the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) and matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues，para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues，and the association with clinical pathological features.Methods：Real-time qPCR，immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to detect the expressions of FGFR1 and MMP3 mRNA and protein levels in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues (78 cases)，the corresponding para-tumor tissues (35 cases) and normal esophageal tissues (35 cases).Their relationships with clinical pathological characteristics of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were analyzed.Results：The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 mRNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were much higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues (P<0.05).No significant difference was observed between para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues （P>0.05）.The positive rate and expression level of FGFR1 and MMP3 protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues (P<0.05).No significant difference was observed between para-tumor tissues and normol esophageal tissues （P>0.05）.The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was not associated with gender，age，differentiation of carcinoma （P>0.05），but associated with the depth of invasion，lymphatic metastasis and tumor TNM　stages (P<0.05).The expression level of FGFR1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was positively correlated with the expression of MMP3 (r=0.303，P<0.05).Conclusion：The expression of FGFR1 and MMP3 are significantly higher than those in para-tumor tissues and normal esophageal tissues.They may be associated with invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous carcinoma.
