Abstract:
Objective:To explore the expression and clinical significance of anti-apoptotic Survivin protein and multidrug resistance proteins P-glycoprotein in human breast cancer tissues.Methods: Survivin and P-glycoprotein were detected by immunohistochemistry with tissue microarrays which contained 217 breast cancers and 52 cases of mammary gland fibroma.Comparative the differences of Survivin and P-glycoprotein,and the correlation of expression of Survivin and P-glycoprotein with clinicopathologic markers (including:the pathological type,tumor size,lymph node metastasis,TNM stage,histological grade,etc.) of breast cancer were analyzed.Results:Positive rates of Survivin and P-glycoprotein in mammary gland fibroma were 13.46% and 9.62%,significantly lower than 76.04% and 73.27% positive rates in breast cancers respectively(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed there was a weak positive correlation between Survivin and P-glycoprotein(P<0.05).Survivin had positive correlation with lymph node metastasis,TNM stage and histological grade (P<0.05).P-glycoprotein had positive correlation with histological grade(P<0.05). The difference of mean survival time in positive Survivin,positive P-glycoprotein and negative Survivin protein,negative P-glycoprotein were respectively statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion:There were high-level expression of Survivin and P-glycoprotein in breast cancer tissues,both Survivin and P-glycoprotein had positive correlation with histological grade,affected survival time of patients.Survivin had a weak positive correlation with P-glycoprotein.
