Abstract:
Objective:To explore the impact of empowerment perception on the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients,as well as the role of benefit finding and psychological resilience in it.Methods:The Chinese version of Cancer Empowerment Questionnaire (CEQ),Benefit Finding Scale (BFS),10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10),and the Chinese version of 8-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-8) were used to investigate the colorectal cancer patients in a grade A tertiary hospital.Results:The concise quality of life score of colorectal cancer patients was relatively low (40.746±18.264).The stratified regression analysis of empowerment perception,benefit finding,and psychological resilience in the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients showed that the joint effect of the three factors on the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients was as strong as 41.7%.The chain mediated effect results showed that benefit finding had a significant mediating effect between empowerment perception and quality of life.The mediating effect was 0.304 (95%CI:0.025~0.118).The chain mediating effect between benefit finding and psychological resilience was also significant,with a mediating effect of 0.064 (95%CI:0.002~0.035).Conclusion:Empowerment perception not only directly affects the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients,but also indirectly affects the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients through independent mediators of benefit finding and the chain mediating effect of benefit finding and psychological resilience.
