Abstract:
Objective:To provide prevention and control measures for thyroid cancer,by analyzing the incidence,death and survival trend of thyroid cancer in tumor registration areas in Shenyang,China from 2009 to 2019.Methods:The incidence and death cases of thyroid cancer from 2009 to 2019 in the tumor registration area of Shenyang,a national cancer surveillance point,were collected.The incidence rate,mortality rate,age-standardized rates (by Chinese standard population and world standard population),truncated rate (35~64 years old),cumulative rate (0~74 years old) and survival rate of thyroid cancer were calculated.Joinpoint3.5.3 software was used to calculate the annual percentage change (APC%) of incidence rate,mortality rate,and survival rate.SPSS 23.0 statistical software was used for the χ2 test on the incidence rate and mortality rate of thyroid cancer in males and females.Results:From 2009 to 2019,the crude incidence of thyroid cancer in Shenyang,China,the age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population and world standard population were 15.15/100 000,12.11/100 000,and 10.23/100 000,respectively.The incidence rate was higher in females than that in males (P<0.01).The crude mortality rate of thyroid cancer,the age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population and world standard population were 0.76/100 000,0.43/100 000,0.41/100 000,respectively.And the mortality rate was higher in females than that in males (P<0.01).The 10-year incidence rate of thyroid cancer of males and females in Shenyang,China had been on the rise (P<0.05).The incidence rank of thyroid cancer rose to the fifth place in males and the third place in females.And the mortality rank remained basically unchanged in both gender.From 2011 to 2015,the 5-year observed survival rate of thyroid cancer in males and females showed an upward trend,ranking the first in the survival rate of malignant tumors.Conclusion:From 2009 to 2019,the incidence of thyroid cancer in Shenyang,China had been on the rise,which was higher in females than that in males,and the mortality rank remained basically unchanged.The 5-year observed survival rate showed an upward trend,ranking the first in the survival rate of malignant tumors.
