Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the effects of posture fixation,age and body mass index(BMI)on setup errors in radiotherapy for patients with cervical cancer.Methods:78 patients of postoperative radiotherapy for cervical cancer with the clinical data were analyzed retrospectively.According to the fixation method of body position during radiotherapy,patients were divided into two groups:group A with supine position and group B with prone position.According to the age of patients,they were divided into group Ⅰ(<60 years old)and group Ⅱ(≥60 years old).Patients were divided into group Ⅲ(<24 kg/m2)and group Ⅳ(≥24 kg/m2)by body mass index(BMI).Patients were subjected to CBCT scan before the first treatment,and the setup errors of X,Y and Z axes were calculated using automatic bone registration combined with manual fine-tuning.The effects of body position fixation,age and BMI on setup errors were compared.Results:In X direction and Y direction,the setup errors of supine position were significant less than that of prone position(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two fixation methods in z-axis setup errors(P>0.05).In the X-axis,Y-axis and Z-axis setup errors of different age groups in the same body position had no significant difference(P>0.05).In the same body position,the setup errors of BMI<24 kg/m2 group in X-axis and Y-axis direction were significantly smaller than that of BMI>24 kg/m2 group(P<0.05).The setup errors of supine patients with BMI≥24 kg/m2 in Y-axis direction were significantly smaller than that in prone position(P<0.05).Conclusions:Prone position is more appropriate for patients with BMI<24 kg/m2 and strong sense of self-cooperation.Supine position is recommended for patients with BMI<24 kg/m2 and poor self-coordination consciousness and patients with BMI≥24 kg/m2,so as to reduce the setup error as much as possible and implement accurate treatment.
