Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the expression,prognostic significance and functional mechanism of mitochondrial fission regulator 1 (MTFR1) based on TCGA pan-cancer analysis.Methods:The expression and prognostic significance of MTFR1 in pan-cancer was analyzed by TCGA portal UALCAN.Proteins interacted with MTFR1 downloaded from STRING platform,and were performed Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG signaling pathway analysis by DAVID 6.8.Results:UALCAN analysis showed that MTFR1 was highly expressed in breast adenocarcinoma,lung squamous cell carcinoma,head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal carcinoma (P<0.001),but was low in renal clear cell carcinoma and thyroid carcinoma.MTFR1 expression was unfavorable to prognosis of breast adenocarcinoma,lung squamous cell carcinoma,thyroid carcinoma (P=0.014,P=0.022,P=0.001 3),and was helpful for prognosis of renal clear cell carcinoma (P=0.005 3).DAVID 6.8 analysis showed that MTFR1 interacting proteins mainly located in integral component of membrane,and participated in process of proteolysis,protein targeting to mitochondrion,protein targeting to endoplasmic reticulum,signal peptide processing,bound to metal ion,and performed metalloendopeptidase,serine-type peptidase and serine-type endopeptidase activity and so on.Pathways included renin-angiotensin system and glutathione metabolism and so on.Conclusion:MTFR1 is highly expressed in breast adenocarcinoma,lung squamous cell carcinoma,head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,and esophageal carcinoma,but is low in renal clear cell carcinoma and thyroid carcinoma.MTFR1 expression was unfavorable to prognosis of breast adenocarcinoma,lung squamous cell carcinoma and thyroid carcinoma,and was helpful for prognosis of renal clear cell carcinoma,which can be used as prognostic marker of these tumors.
