Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of aloe combined with recombinant human epidermal growth factor in the prevention and treatment of acute radioactive dermatitis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.Methods:A total of 100 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with radical radiotherapy were randomly divided into two groups.50 patients were treated with recombinant human epidermal growth factor and aloe juice after first radiotherapy,and 50 cases were treated with aloe juice as the control group.Results:The rate of acute radiation dermatitis in the experimental group and the control group was 48.0% and 84.0% respectively(P<0.01).The rate of I-Ⅱ grade acute radiation dermatitis in experimental group was 42.0%(21/50),and the control group was 66.0%(33/50).The rate of Ⅲ-Ⅳ grade acute radiation dermatitis in experimental group was 6.0%(3/50),the control group was 18.0%(9/50).The experimental group pain score was lower than the control group(P<0.01).The patients were followed up for 4 weeks at the end of the radiotherapy.91.7%(22/24) of the patients in the experimental group had remission within 1 week,and 61.9%(26/42) of the control group had been relieved within 1 week.The duration of acute radiation dematitis in the control group was longer than that in the experimental group(P< 0.05).Conclusion:The combination of aloe and recombinant human epidermal growth factor can be effective in prevention of acute radiation dermatitis,relieve the pain of patients,improve the quality of life and provide the guarantee for the smooth progress of radiotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
