Abstract:
SCF(Skp1-Cullin1-F-box) complex is a large class of ubiquitin ligase E3.S phase kinase associated protein 2 (Skp2) is one of the members of F-box proteins.Accumulated studies had indicated that Skp2 was involved in the regulation of cell cycle and the occurrence and development of many kinds of malignant tumors.Recent studies had found that Skp2 plays an important role in the invasion and metastasis of tumors.Skp2 ould promote the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells by regulating the expression of RhoA,the expression and activity of matrix metalloproteinases MMP-2,MMP-9 and the degradation of E-cadherin.In this review,we discuss recented advances on the functions of Skp2 in cancer progression and metastasis.
