Abstract:
Objective:To explore the expression and the clinical significance of serum miR-17-5p in ovarian cancer.Methods:Expressions of serum miR-17-5p were analyzed by qRT-PCR in 77 ovarian cancer patients.Statistical analysis was conducted to analyze the diagnostic and prognostic value of serum miR-17-5p in ovarian cancer.Results:qRT-PCR revealed that the serum miR-17-5p was significantly higher in the serum of ovarian cancer patients than healthy controls.ROC curves revealed that serum miR-17-5p was a promising diagnostic biomarker for ovarian cancer.Chi-square revealed that serum miR-17-5p was statistically significantly associated with clinical stage of ovarian cancer patients.Kaplan-Meier curves revealed that serum miR-17-5p expression was negatively correlated with 5 years survival rate of ovarian cancer patients after surgery,which was statistically significant.Conclusion:miR-17-5p is upregulated in the serum of ovarian cancer patients,and is a promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for ovarian cancer.
