Abstract:
As a member of homeobox gene family,HOXA9 gene encodes an important transcription factor, which play a significant role in the control of embryonic development and cell differentiation.Recently studies have found that the abnormal expression of HOXA9 gene was closely related to acute leukemia, malignant glioma, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer and other tumors. In different tumors or different stages of the same tumor,HOXA9 is involved in the proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation of tumor cells, which play a dualrole in cancer:Promoting or inhibiting the progression of cancer. It was not clear about the specific mechanism of this difference. This paper focus on the structure and function of HOXA9 gene and its relationship with tumors.
