Abstract:
Synthetic biology is a discipline centered on engineering novel biological functions through the discovery,characterization,and repurposing of molecular parts.The applications of synthetic biology for cancer include bacterial therapeutics,cell-based therapeutics,and vaccine development based on synthetic bacteria,gene circuits,proteins and carbohydrate,nucleic acid,virus or cells.Synthetics biology will take the form of evolved multifunctional proteins,metabolic pathways,or multicellular consortia,and may change the current cancer treatment modality.
