Abstract:
Objective:To determine the expression profiles of miR-1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) and the clinical significance of the downregulation of miR-1 in primary ESCC.Methods:The expression profiles of miR-1 in 64 pairs of ESCC tissues and 5 ESCC cell lines were analyzed by reverse transcription PCR and SYBR green quantitative PCR.The differences in the expression level of miR-1 and the clinicopathological characteristics were statistically analyzed by SPSS,t-test and ANOVA test.Results:Among all the samples,90.6%(58/64) of the ESCC tissue samples showed a 2-fold lower expression of miR-1 than that in normal tissues.And miR-1 was significantly downregulated in 5 ESCC cell lines.The results revealed that the downregulation of miR-1 significantly correlated with tumor invasion and advanced clinical stage,while no significant correlation with gender,age,tumor size and degree of differentiation.Conclusion:The expression of miR-1 in ESCC is downregulated and significantly correlated with the depth of tumor invasion and clinical stage.These findings suggest that miR-1 play important roles in the development and progression of ESCC which provides a basic for further reseach on the molecular mechanism of ESCC.
