Abstract:
Bladder cancer (BCa) is one of the most common malignant tumors of the urinary tract and is clinically divided into non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).Bladder cancer is a type of bladder cancer that grows in both superficial and invasive directions and is prone to recurrence and metastasis. At present, there are many methods to treat bladder cancer, but the curative effect is not ideal. Therefore, developing effective targeted drugs for bladder cancer treatment and non-invasive in vitro diagnostic tests with high sensitivity and specificity are of great clinical value for the treatment and diagnosis of bladder cancer.Exosomes are extracellular vesicles with a lipid bilayer membrane structure released by many cells and play a key role in intercellular communication by delivering intracellular signaling substances such as proteins, nucleic acids, microRNAs,and other non-coding RNAs.microRNAs (miRNAs) are a new class of non-coding RNAs with a particular stem-ring structure and resistance to degradation by nucleic acid exonucleases, which widely exist in various body fluids.miRNAs can act as messengers between donor and recipient cells through exosomes to mediate various signaling pathways, and studies have shown that exosomal miRNAs can effectively reflect tumor progression and prognosis and are expected to be a new tumor marker. In this paper,we reviewed the biological functions of exosomal-derived miRNAs in the development of bladder cancer and the research progress in clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of bladder cancer.
