Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the factors influencing the accuracy of modified ultrasound-guided core-needle biopsy (US-CNB) of thyroid nodules.Methods:A total of 873 patients who underwent modified US-CNB in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 due to thyroid nodules were collected,552 of whom underwent surgery after modified US-CNB.A total of 486 patients whose modified US-CNB diagnosis were classified as benign (Bethesda Class Ⅱ) or malignant (Bethesda Class Ⅴ and Ⅵ) were evaluated for the diagnostic efficacy of modified US-CNB,and the influencing factors of its accuracy were analyzed by binary Logistic regression.Results:The accuracy rate of modified US-CNB was 95.68%(465/486).The false negative rate was 7.69%(21/273).The false positive rate was 0,and the sensitivity was 92.31%(252/273).Univariate analysis showed that the size of thyroid nodules and operators' experience were related factors affecting accuracy of modified US-CNB (P<0.05).Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that thyroid nodules with or without calcification,nodule size and operators' experience were independent factors affecting the accuracy of modified US-CNB.Conclusion:Thyroid nodules with calcification,nodules less than 1cm in diameter and operators' inexperience were the main reasons for the decreased accuracy of modified US-CNB,and increasing experience of operators could improve the accuracy of modified US-CNB.
