Abstract:
Objective:To assess the causal effect of tea intake on bladder cancer using the two-sample Mendelian randomization (2-sample-MR,2SMR) method. Methods:Based on the data from a large-scale tea intake genome-wide association study (GWAS) and the GWAS of bladder cancer,we investigated the causality between tea intake and bladder cancer using an inverse variance weighted (IVW) method,MR-Egger analysis and weighted median method. Finally, sensitivity analysis is conducted to evaluate the stability and reliability of the results. Results:Inverse variance weighted method (OR=0.999,95%CI:0.995~1.000,P=0.465 20),MR-Egger analysis(OR=1.000,95%CI:0.984~1.017,P=0.945 25),and weighted median method(OR=0.998,95%CI:0.993~1.003,P=0.497 28) showed no causal relationship between tea intake and bladder cancer (P>0.05).Conclusion:This result of two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis reveals no casual effect between tea intake and bladder cancer.
