Abstract:
With the prolongation of survival of breast cancer patients, radiation heart injury has been widely concerned. The occurrence of radiation heart injury is closely related to the dose of radiation to the heart.Deep inspiratory breath-holding is a simple technique for increasing lung volume during radiotherapy to move the heart away from the clinical target of breast cancer.A number of studies have shown that deep inspiratory breath holding can benefit breast cancer patients in terms of cardiac dose. Therefore, deep inspiratory breath holding is a potential technique for reducing cardiac damage caused by radiation in breast cancer. In this review,we will review the progress of radiation cardiac injury and the application of deep inspiratory breath-holding in reducing radiation cardiac injury in breast cancer.
