Abstract:
Tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily,which can combine with human fibroblast growth factor inducible 14(Fn14) to produce an effect.Studies have shown that TWEAK/Fn14 is up-regulated in a variety of tumor and participates in regulating cell proliferation,apoptosis,invasion and metastasis.Since the overexpression of TWEAK/Fn14 is closely related to the development and poor prognosis of tumor,TWEAK/Fn14 has garnered significant interests as effective biomarkers and targets for cancer treatment.This article reviews the structure of TWEAK/Fn14,related signal pathway and role in tumor development and treatment.
