Abstract:
Objective:To observe the effect of Guishao Liujunzi decoction (GSLJZ) on Th1/Th2 immune drift and clinical efficacy in advanced gastric cancer patients.Methods:Eight-two patients were screened for eligibility,with 41 assigned to the treatment group (GSLJZ combined with chemotherapy) and 41 assigned to the control group (chemotherapy alone).The changes of Th1/Th2 cytokines expression and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results:After treatment,the level of Th1 cytokines interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group,while the level of Th2 cytokines IL-4 and IL-10 were significantly decreased in the treatment group (P＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in the short-term efficacy between the two groups (P＞0.05).After treatment,the Karnofsky score in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P＜0.01).The curative effect of TCM syndrome score in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group,especially in improving digestive tract symptoms and fatigue (P＜0.05).The incidence of gastrointestinal reaction in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:GSLJZ can promote Th1/Th2 shift to Th1,enhance anti-tumor immunity,relieve clinical symptoms and gastrointestinal reactions,and improve the quality of life in advanced gastric cancer patients.
