Abstract:
Objective:To detect the radiation dose rate around the body of patients with esophageal cancer after implantation of 125I seeds nutrition tube,to guide the medical protection work.Methods:30 patients received 125I seeds nutrition tubes between July 2019 and September 2021were underwent radiation dose rate monitoring in four directions (anterior,posterior,left,right) at the state of non-radiation protection or 0.25 mm lead clothing protection.The measurement times were set at the point of the day after surgery and post-6-week,while the radiation dose rate was measured at 0.0 m,0.2 m,0.4 m,0.6 m,0.8 m,and 1.0 m to the skin surface in four directions.The values measured at each point were compared with the background value.Results:At the state of 0.25 mm lead clothing protection,the differences in the radiation dose rate at 0.0m to the skin surface between all the directions at both measuring points except anterior direction at the day after surgery and the background value were not statistically different(P>0.05).At the state of non-radiation protection,the differences in radiation dose rate between 1.0 m of anterior,0.6 m of posterior,0.8 m of left and 0.8 m of right and the background value were not statistically different at the day after surgery(P>0.05).The differences in radiation dose rate between 0.8 m of anterior,0.4 m of posterior,0.6 m of left and 0.6 m of right and the background value were not statistically different post-6-week(P>0.05).Conclusion:It is safe for medical staff to maintain a distance of more than 1 meter for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with esophageal cancer after implantation of 125I seeds nutrition tube.And it is necessary for medical staff to select protective equipment when in close contact with them.
