Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the clinical features,pathological morphology,immunophenotype,fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) detection,diagnosis,differential diagnosis and prognosis of postoperative spindle cell nodule (PSCN) in vagina.Methods:The clinical manifestations,morphological features,immunohistochemistry and FISH detection of 4 cases of vaginal PSCN were analyzed,and the literature was reviewed.Results:All the 4 cases of vaginal PSCN had a history of recent operation in the diseased area.Light microscopy showed spindle cell proliferation with more mitosis,but lack of nuclear pleomorphism and pathological mitosis.Immunohistochemistry staining showed that CK was focally and weakly positive in 2 cases,Vimentin and SMA (tram track staining pattern) were diffusely and strongly positive in 4 cases,and ALK (D5F3) was negative in 4 cases.FISH test showed that all 4 cases were positive for USP6 gene rearrangement.Conclusion:USP6 gene rearrangement was found in vaginal PSCN for the first time,which is helpful for the diagnosis of PSCN.A subset of vaginal PSCN has USP6 gene rearrangement,since its similarity to nodular fasciitis (NF),PSCN could be classified as USP6-associated fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumor (UAN).
