Abstract:
Objective:To analyze the differences between the expression of baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis repeat-containing protein 5(BIRC5) in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and normal tissues using bioinformatics analysis, and to analyze its relationship with NSCLC prognosis and immune cells infiltration level. Methods:The GEPIA database was utilized to investigate the expression level of BIRC5 in NSCLC and normal lung tissue. The correlation between BIRC5 expression and immune cells infiltration level and immune cells infiltration-related gene markers in NSCLC was analyzed by Sperman's correlation test on TIMER database and GEPIA database. Finally, the relationship between the expression of BIRC5 and NSCLC prognosis was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier plotter.Results:BIRC5 expression level in NSCLC was increased compared with normal tissues(P<0.05).BIRC5 gene is significantly related to the infiltration level of various immune cells and their genetic markers in NSCLC immuno-microenvironment.Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that low infiltration of B cells and high expression of BIRC5 were independent risk factors of poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma(P<0.05).Survival analysis showed that high expression of BIRC5 was significantly associated with poor prognosis in NSCLC(P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression of BIRC5 gene was increased in NSCLC,which affected the level of NSCLC immune cells infiltration and resulting in the imbalance of immune microenvironment, which in turn caused poor clinical prognosis.BIRC5 gene is expected to be a biological marker associated with NSCLC immune cells infiltration and prognosis.
