Abstract:
Gene therapy is an emerging technology that could replace defective gene with exogenous nucleci acids permanently or transiently.Cancer gene therapy is a potentially beneficial approach particularly over chemotherapy. In recent years,a large number of cancer gene therapy clinical trials have been carried out. However, gene therapy lacks selectivity and can cause non-specific toxicity.Gene delivery vector is the key to cancer gene therapy,an ideal gene delivery vector should have high transduction efficiency and is safe to human. How to improve the specificity of gene delivery and develop gene delivery vector with high efficiency and low toxicity is considered a major challenge.Researchers at home and abroad have done a lot of study to develop novel targeting vectors and technology to improve the specificity of gene expression. This review concludes the frequently used gene delivery vectors and the related strategies in cancer targeted gene delivery.
