Abstract:
Objective:To discuss the expression and significance of tripartite motif-containing protein 24(TRIM24),c-myc,and ARF proteins in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues.Methods:Clinical pathological data from 102 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who underwent surgical treatment at the Chengde Central Hospital between January 2018 and December 2022 were selected as the research subjects (experimental group).Additionally,54 cases of normal esophageal mucosa adjacent to the cancer were selected as the control group.Immunohistochemistry (Envision method) was employed to detect the expression of TRIM24,c-myc,and ARF proteins.Observations were made on the expression of these three proteins in both squamous carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal esophageal mucosa,and an analysis was conducted on the relationship between their expression and clinical pathological features.Moreover,the correlation of expression among these three proteins within esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues was investigated.Results:The positive expression rates of TRIM24,c-myc,and ARF in squamous carcinoma tissues compared to adjacent normal esophageal mucosa tissues were 72.62% vs 7.45%,74.36% vs 13.85%,and 26.56% vs 83.18%,respectively.The differences in expression between the squamous carcinoma and normal esophageal mucosa tissues were statistically significant(P<0.05 for all).Analysis showed that the expressions of TRIM24,c-myc,and ARF proteins in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were significantly correlated with the degree of cancer differentiation,lymph node metastasis,and clinical staging (P<0.05 for all).According to Spearman's correlation analysis,the expression of TRIM24 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues was positively correlated with the expression of c-myc protein (r=0.587,P<0.05) and negatively correlated with the expression of ARF protein (r=-0.601,P<0.05).c-myc expression was negatively correlated with ARF protein expression (r=-0.465,P<0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of TRIM24,c-myc and ARF may play an important role in the development of esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma.Therefore,c-myc,TRIM24 and ARF may be potential therapeutic targets for the individualized treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
