Abstract:
Objective:To dicuss the clinicopathological features and prognostic risk factors of primary ovarian goiter carcinoid. Methods:The clinical data, microscopic morphology, immunohistochemical phenotype and survival status of 5 patients with primary ovarian carcinoid treated in Shenzhen Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2010 to September 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and the pathological characteristics, clinical treatment methods, postoperative survival and risk factors affecting prognosis of primary ovarian carcinoid were summarized and analyzed. Results:Five female patients, all with unilateral ovarian goiter carcinoid, did not receive adjuvant treatment after surgery,3 cases were followed up for more than 11 years, the other 2 cases were followed up for 9 months and 4 months, respectively, and no tumor recurrence or metastasis was found. Conclusion:Stage I ovarian carcinoid has a good prognosis, and the scope of surgery should be evaluated according to the patient's age and fertility requirements.Close monitoring and regular follow-up should be conducted after surgery, and adjuvant therapy is not recommended. For patients with metastasis or risk factors that may affect prognosis, clinicians need to make a comprehensive analysis and formulate an appropriate treatment plan,to minimize the harm to patients without shortening the survival time.
