Abstract:
Nuclear Protein1(NUPR1) is an intrinsically disordered protein(IDP) and stress protein in the nucleus.Under conditions of external stress(such as radiation,carcinogens,etc.) or internal stress(such as oxidative stress,ER stress,etc.),NUPR1 expressed rapidly to protect cells from stress damage.Meanwhile,NUPR1 is also a transcription factor,which is involved in the progression of various cancers by regulating cell activities such as apoptosis,autophagy,iron death,cell cycle,and DNA damage.Large numbers of studies reported NUPR1 overexpressed in several cancers such as pancreatic cancer,breast cancer,lung cancer and liver cancer,however,the molecular regulation mechanism of NUPR1 in tumors is not fully understood.The present review aimes to summarize the basic characteristics of NUPR1 and its related mechanism in the occurrence,development and treatment of human cancers in order to provide new ideas for the treatment of tumors.
