Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of UBE2S in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).Methods:The expression of UBE2S in ESCC and precancerous tissues were detected by Immunohistochemical SP,the correlations between its expression and clinicopathological features were analyzed.The effect of UBE2S expression on ESCC prognosis was investigated.Results:The expression of UBE2S in ESCC was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues (P=0.035).The positive rates of high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (HIN) (P<0.001) and ESCC (P<0.001) were higher than that in adjacent tissues.The positive rates of HIN (P=0.016) and ESCC (P=0.008) were higher than that in low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LIN).The expression of UBE2S in ESCC patients was related to race (P<0.001),and it was positively correlated with the expressions of TP53 (r=0.288,P<0.001) and Ki67 (r=0.210,P=0.002).The expression of UBE2S is an independent risk factor affecting progression-free survival (P=0.005) and overall survival (P=0.005) in patients with ESCC.Conclusion:The high expression of UBE2S may be an independent risk factor of poor prognosis in patients with ESCC.However,the prognosis of UBE2S and ESCC on GEPIA has no statistical significance,which needs further study.
