Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the association between pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) and postoperative infectious complications and prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC).Methods:The clinical data of 437 patients with CRC who underwent radical operation in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively.The cut-off of PIV was determined by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC).According to the cut-off,the patients were divided into two groups.The overall survival (OS) were compared by Kaplan-Meier method.Risk factors affecting postoperative infectious complications were analyzed by Logistic regression and risk factors affecting OS were analyzed by multivariate Cox.Results:The best critical value of PIV was 463.7.Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that the median survival time of the high PIV group and the low PIV group was 33 months and 80 months,respectively.The OS of high PIV group was significantly worse than low PIV group(Log-rank test,P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age ≥60 years old,open surgery,diabetes and PIV≥ 463.7 were independent risk factors for postoperative infectious complications.Multivariate analysis showed that poor pathological differentiation,T stage (T3-T4),TNM stage (III-IV),number of lymph node number examined ≤12,distant metastasis and PIV ≥463.7 were independent poor prognostic factors for OS.Conclusion:PIV was an effective predictor of postoperative infectious complications and OS in patients with colorectal cancer.
