Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the application value of infrared fluorescence imaging in the identification and protection of parathyroid glands during radical resection of thyroid cancer.Methods:137 patients with thyroid cancers enrolled from January June 2021 to March 2022 in department of head and neck surgery of our hospital were selected as research objects.All patients underwent bilateral radical thyroidectomy combined with bilateral central lymph node dissection and/or lateral neck dissection.The parathyroid gland identified by naked eye and infrared fluorescence imaging,and the detection rate and accuracy rate of the two methods were analyzed.Results:A total of 491 parathyroid glands were found in 137 patients.462(94.1%) parathyroid glands were detected by naked eye and 484(98.6%) parathyroid glands were detected by infrared fluorescence imaging(χ2=13.956,P<0.01).However,the accuracy was 98.1%(462/471) by naked eye and 97.8%(484/495) by infrared fluorescence imaging(χ2=0.115,P>0.05).Conclusion:Infrared fluorescence imaging can improve the detection rate of parathyroid gland in radical thyroidectomy,effectively identify and protect the parathyroid gland.
