Abstract:
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most prevalent tumour in the world,with 768 793 deaths worldwide in 2020,accounting for 7.7% of total cancer deaths.China has high incidence of gastric cancer,with a low overall survival rate and poor treatment prognosis,which has a significant impact on people's health and national economic development.Infection with the human pathogen Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is one of the important factors leading to the development of gastric cancer.It colonizes in gastric epithelial cells and it is associated with a variety of gastric diseases.H.pylori induces the classical and alternative nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signalling pathway through lipopolysaccharide,adenosine diphosphate heptose,or virulence factors.NF-κB is an important intracellular transcription factor,involved in the regulation of multiple physiological activities,and influences the development of gastric cancer by regulating the expression of genes related to inflammatory response,cell proliferation,metastasis and invasion,as well as apoptosis.Here,we summarized the mechanisms of NF-κB involved in Helicobacter pylori-induced gastric cancer and reviewed the natural products targeting the NF-κB signalling pathway,aiming to provide more references for the pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer.
