Abstract:
Objective:To detection of cognitive impairments after radiotherapy for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma using resting-state brain functional magnetic resonance imaging.Methods:9 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy and 9 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma before radiotherapy were scanned using resting-state brain functional magnetic resonance imaging,the differences of regional homogeneity(ReHo) and amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(ALFF) between the two groups were examined.Voxel based analysis was performed using two-sample t-test.Results:In patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy,decreased ReHo was deteted in left cerebelum and bilateral cerebellar peduncles.Also,decreased ALFF was found in the right middle frontal gyrus,bilateral inferior frontal gyrus.No increase in ReHo or ALFF was found in the brain area of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy.Conclusion:Patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy show abnormal brain nerve activity at resting state,which may be related to cognitive dysfunction after radiotherapy.
