Abstract:
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are important inflammatory cells in the tumor microenvironment.Under the action of various stimuli,TAMs can be divided into classical activation (M1) and alternating activation (M2) types.M1-TAMs has the effect of inhibiting the malignant tumor activity, and M2-TAMs has the effect of promoting the development of the malignant tumor. It is shown that TAMs in tumor tissues are mainly M2 type and can secrete a variety of chemokines and cytokines to promote tumor proliferation, invasion and metastasis, angiogenesis and drug resistance, then reduce the immune effect of the body on the tumor. This review presents the phenotype of TAMs and new advances in its mechanism of action in lung cancer.
