Abstract:
Objective:To study the guiding significance of optical positioning system (OPS) in radiotherapy of thoracic and abdominal tumors for setting error.Methods:30 patients with thoracic and abdominal tumors were fixed with improved supine fixation technique,and all patients were labeled with OPS.During the treatment,the patients were positioned according to the conventional method,and the patients were treated with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning and were moved to bed.The CBCT errors (control group) and OPS readings (observation group),including linear errors in X (left and right direction),Y (head and foot direction) and Z (ventral back direction),were recorded after moving to bed,and the two error results were analyzed and compared.Results:According to the standard of CBCT,the alignment errors of X,Y and Z were (1.95±1.16) mm,(3.87±1.67) mm and (1.71±1.03) mm,respectively.The corresponding OPS display errors in X,Y and Z directions were (0.63±0.56) mm,(0.31±0.49) mm and (0.32±0.22) mm,respectively.The OPS error was smaller than the traditional positioning error,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with conventional laser alignment,OPS assisted positioning technique can significantly reduce the setting error of patients with thoracic and abdominal tumors during radiotherapy and improve the positioning accuracy during treatment.It has clinical application value for improving the accuracy of radiotherapy for patients with thoracic and abdominal tumors.
