Abstract:
Objective:To compare the efficacy between tonifying spleen and nourishing qi combined with erythropoietin with erythropoietin for patients with advanced gastric cancer associated anemia.Methods:A total of 44 patients with advanced gastric cancer were divided randomly into two groups.There were 22 patients for erythropoietin group(control group:treated with erythropoietin 150 IU/kg three times a week) and 22 patients for tonifying spleen and nourishing qi combinated erythropoietin group(treatment group:treated with erythropoietin 150 IU/kg three times a week and tonifying spleen and nourishing qi decoction).Both two groups were evaluated after 8 weeks.Results:There was significant difference before and after treatment on RBC,HGB and HCT in the treatment group(P<0.05).Peripheral blood CD4+/CD8+ subset in treatment group was significantly higher(P<0.05).The KPS score,fatigue score and sicchasia,melancholian dysphoric,drowsy,orexia were improved significantly in treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Tonifying spleen and nourishing qi combined with erythropoietin is effective for gastric cancer associated anemia.
