Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the clinical value of positron emission tomography (PET/CT) in the diagnosis of cardiac tumors.Methods:The PET/CT imaging of 23 patients with cardiac tumors who underwent PET/CT examination from January 2011 to December 2018 was restrospectively analyzed.The diagnostic was based on postoperative pathological findings and clinical follow-up results.The PET/CT diagnostic efficacy of cardiac tumor was evaluated.The SUVmax of benign and malignant tumors was compared with the definite diagnosis,and the data was analyzed by two-sample t-test.Results:Among the 23 patients with cardiac tumors,19 were malignant tumors,6 were primary malignant tumors,13 were metastatic tumors,and 4 were benign cases.The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of PET/CT imaging in benign and malignant neoplasms were 89.5%(17/19),75.0%(3/4),and 87.0%(20/23),respectively.The average SUVmax of malignant tumors was 14.5±9.7.The SUVmax of benign tumors was 3.0±2.4.There was a significant difference between the two groups (t=-1.95,P<0.05).PET/CT imaging of malignant tumors found that 16 people with multiple parts and multiple organ metastases and changed clinical staging and therapeutic schedule.Conclusion:PET/CT imaging has a high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of cardiac malignant tumors which can help to differentiate the benign and malignant lesions cardiac occupying lesions,and has great guidance for the clinical staging and treatment of tumors.
