Abstract:
Objective：To investigate the clinical characteristics of loneliness in patients from oncology department,providing evidences to improve the loneliness in these patients.Methods：344 inpatients from the oncology department of Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from May 14 to August 17,2018 were included.The basic data of patients were collected and questionnaires were conducted with UCLA loneliness scale.Results：According to UCLA loneliness scale classification criteria,there were 129 highly lonely patients (37.5%),84 moderately upper lonely patients (24.4%) and 79 moderately lonely patients (23%).The incidence of loneliness was higher in female patients,including 70.54% in high loneliness and 48.81% in middle and upper loneliness.There were significant differences in the degree of loneliness among different types of medical insurance,educational level and patients' awareness of the diagnosis (P＜0.05).Conclusion：The loneliness of inpatients in oncology department is common.Female,low education,low insurance and patients' awareness of the diagnosis are more likely to have the feeling of lonliness.We should give these patients accordingly psychological consultation and treatment.
