Abstract:
Autophagy is a process that uses lysosomes to degrade self-damaged organelles, macromolecules, and harmful pathogens under the regulation of autophagy-related genes. It plays an important role in maintaining cell survival, organelle renewal, material circulation, and homeostasis.Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the main cause of cervical cancer. When HPV invades normal host cells,it activates autophagy and then inhibits its early infection.Instead,it promotes its infection by inhibiting autophagy through its attachment and endocytosis to host cells at the same time.In this game,HPV successfully usurps autophagy, overturns the host internal environment, promotes its own proliferation and replication, and eventually leads to the occurrence and progression of cervical cancer.
