Abstract:
Cervical cancer is a common malignancy in women worldwide. The overall prognosis for cervical cancer remains poor due to metastasis or recurrence, especially in patients with advanced cancer.Metastasis accounts for about 90 percent of all cancer-related deaths. Therefore, identifying the causes and potential markers of metastasis is of great significance for promoting early diagnosis, predicting prognosis and developing new treatment strategies for cervical cancer.During the development and progression of cervical cancer, many microRNAs (miRNAs) have been shown to be significantly maladjusted. There is increasing evidence that miRNAs can effectively regulate the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT),which includes control of EMT signaling pathways and direct targeting of EMT transcription factors to regulate the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. This summary will briefly elucidate the effect of miRNA regulation of EMT on the invasion and metastasis of cervical cancer.
