Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the expression characteristics and clinical significance of Snail2,insulin-like growth factor II mRNA-binding protein 3 (IMP3) and Wnt inhibitory factor-1(Wif-1) in adenocarcinoma of gastroesophageal junction (AEG).Methods:Ninety cases of AEG patients from March 2017 to March 2019 were randomly selected as the AEG group,and 50 normal gastric tissues were collected as the healthy group during the same period.Patients were examined for AEG metastases after surgery or whole body PET-CT.The expression of Snail2,Wif-1 and IMP3 in tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot.Results:The results of immunohistochemical studies showed that Snail2 was mainly expressed in the nucleus and cytoplasm.IMP3 was mainly expressed in the cytoplasm.The expression levels of Snail2 and IMP3 in AEG tissues were significantly increased.Wif-1 was positively expressed in healthy tissues,but decreased in AEG tissues.Gender,age,and tumor size had little effect on Snail2,IMP3 and Wif-1 in the AEG group (P>0.05).Patients with stage III / IV,lymphatic metastasis,and distant metastasis had significantly increased Snail2 levels in AEG tissues (P<0.05).Patients with stage III / IV,lymphatic metastasis,and distant metastasis had significantly lower Wif-1 levels in AEG tissues (P<0.05).Conclusion:Snail2 and IMP3 were overexpressed in AEG,while Wif-1 was low expressed,and high levels of Snail2,IMP3 and low levels of Wif-1 were related to the malignant clinical phenotype of AEG,which could be used as biomarkers in prediction of AEG metastasis,prognosis and recurrence.
