Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the association between LncRNA PVT1 expression and the clinicopathological characteristics in CRC patients.Methods:We detected the LncRNA PVT1 expression of cancerous tissues and paired-adjacent normal tissues in 130 patients with CRC by using RT-qPCR,and then revealed the clinical significance of LncRNA PVT1 expression in CRC.Results:The LncRNA PVT1 in CRC tissues had higher expression compared to paired-adjacent normal tissues and the overexpressed LncRNA PVT1 was closely related to lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis in CRC patients,but not to tumor T classification.The median DFS of the LncRNA PVT1 low and high expression groups was 44 months and 26 months,respectively(P=0.021).COX multivariate analysis showed that the LncRNA PVT1 expression and TNM stage were both independent prognostic predictors of DFS in patients with CRC.The proportion of patients with overexpressed LncRNA PVT1 was significantly higher than that of patients with elevated CEA in stage I of CRC patients (P＜0.000 1).Conclusion:The overexpressed LncRNA PVT1 is closely related to lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis which is an independent predictor of DFS in CRC patients.Additionally,the abnormal expression of LncRNA PVT1 has the potential value for early diagnosis of CRC.
