Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the prognostic value of different subtypes of phosphofructokinase 1(PFK1) and predict the possible biological processes related to PFKP in lung carcinoma.Methods:The expression value and clinical data of different subtypes of PFK1(PFKP/PFKL/PFKM) were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) database.The correlation of each subtypes of PFK1 expression with the clinicopathological parameters and survival time of patients was analyzed.Gene Set Enrichment Analysis(GSEA) was used to predict the crucial pathway in high PFKP expression patients.Results:PFKP expression levels were associated with tumor infiltration depth(T stage),number of metastatic lymph node(N stage) and gender.The overall survival(OS) of lung cancer patients with higher expression of PFKP was shorter than that with low expression(P<0.05).The gene sets,such as glycolysis and gluconeogenesis,adheren junction,cell cycle pathway,were enriched in the samples with high expression of PFKP.Conclusion:High expression of PFKP is a poor prognostic factor for lung cancer,and PFKP can be used as a potential prognosis prediction biomarker for lung cancer.
