Abstract:
Objective:To explore the expression of HOXC6 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods:Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of HOXC6 protein in 127 cases of paraffin tissue specimens from patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.The correlation between the expression of HOXC6 protein and clinical data was analyzed.The nasopharyngeal carcinoma gene chip datasets GSE12452 and GSE13597 were downloaded from the GEO public database to analyze the differential expression of HOXC6 gene at the transcriptional level between nasopharyngeal carcinoma and normal nasopharyngeal tissues.Further explore the possible mechanism of action of HOXC6 gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by GSEA analysis method.Results:The level of HOXC6 expression was significantly correlated with the T stage,N stage and clinical stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (P<0.05).COX multivariate analysis showed that N stage(P=0.022) and HOXC6 expression level(P=0.038) were independent risk factors for the prognosis of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.GSEA analysis indicated that HOXC6 gene high expression samples were mainly enriched in apoptosis,TNF-α signaling,IL6/JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway.Conclusion:HOXC6 gene is associated with development in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and its high expression might be an independent prognostic risk factor.
