Abstract:
Objective:To reveal the potential role of transient receptor potential channel 6 (TRPC6) in colon cancer.Methods:To study the expression of TRPC6 in colon cancer tissues.60 colon cancer patients were enrolled in this study,and 30 adjacent tissues (cancer tissue edge ≥5 cm) as control group.The expression of TRPC6 was analyzed by immunohistochemical staining.Results:Among 60 colon cancer tissues,TRPC6 expression rate was (-) 23.3%(14/60),(+) 41.7%(25/60),(++) 26.7%(16/60),and (+++) 8.3%(5/60) respectively.Among 30 adjacent tissues,TRPC6 expression rate was (-) 43.3%(13/30),(+) 50.0%(15/30),(++) 6.7%(2/30),and (+++) 0(0/30).TRPC6 expression in colon cancer tissues was significant higher than that in adjacent tissues (P<0.05).In addition,the level of TRPC6 expression in colon cancer tissues was irrelevant with clinical stages and pathological differentiation.Conclusion:TRPC6 can' t be confirmed as target for diagnosis of colon cancer by the current data.But this finding provides a new therapeutic strategy for colon cancer.
