Abstract:
Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics of small acoustic neuroma with sudden hearing loss as the first symptom,in order to improve the level of clinical treatment.Methods:A retrospective analysis of February 2015 to February 2017 to 31 cases of sudden hearing loss which is the first symptom was performed in patients with small acoustic neuromas,to observe their status in audiology examination and imaging aspects.Results:Hearing tests,the pure tone audiometry showed mild to moderate,accounting for 74.19% of all,the acoustic impedance check on stapedius reflex positive rate was 35.48%,a high incidence of positive stimulus ABR 83.87%,vestibular function tests normal in the majority,for the entire 67.74%.MRI imaging diagnosis was 100%.17 patients showed bilateral acoustic nerve morphology asymmetry,five cases of bone destruction,adhesions around six cases,three cases showed cystic tumor capsule form.31 patients without hearing levels were restored to normal levels or before disease,and nine cases of tinnitus and balance disorders symptoms got relied,5 patients improved hearing.Dizziness and discomfort did not appear.Long-term effect was gradually progressing.Conclusion:In the first symptom of sudden hearing loss suspicious small acoustic neuroma patients should perform hearing tests,conducted temporal bone CT and MRI if necessary.
