Abstract:
Objective:To study the relation between methylation of 14-3-3σ gene in promoter region and papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods:Methylation of 14-3-3σ gene in 48 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and 21 cases of non-thyroid carcinoma tissues was examined by methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction(MSP). Results:The methylation of 14-3-3σ gene was detected in 34 cases of 48 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues. The methylation rate was 70.8%. 10 cases in 21 cases of non-thyroid carcinoma tissues had methylation. The methylation rate was 47.6%. The difference was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:More research is needed to define the methylated effect of 14-3-3σ gene in thyroid carcinoma.
